Happy Sunday! This week went by pretty quickly, especially since I had Monday off from work. The weather was "bleh" all week until today, but I have hope for some more spring temperatures around the corner. Not to mention, next week is spring break for us! We have some traveling plans ahead that I'll have to tell you about in the coming weeks.
My Joy for this week is another date night that Daniel and I had on Friday night. We had dinner at Chick-fil-a and then went to the local "dollar theater" and saw Coco. The dollar theater is fantastic because it shows movies that are still fairly recent for super cheap. Our tickets were actually $2.16, but that sure beats any other theater prices around. We have to get creative to go out for cheap (perhaps a post on that soon!)
We really enjoyed Coco. It was fun and exciting - I laughed out loud a few times, actually! If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it.
Today Daniel and I went to church and enjoyed a Sunday-school teaching on Mark and a sermon on what it means to die to ourselves, including what it means to hold ourselves accountable for the prejudices we have or allow. It was a timely message for Black History Month and for the Lenten season.
After church we came home and made lunch and then went to the park to enjoy the finally nice weather. We took a walk around a hiking trail and then set out a blanket and soaked up the sun for a little bit. I colored in my journal and read, and Daniel sprawled out and chilled. It was a really nice afternoon.
This coming week is "Dr. Seuss Week" at the school I work at, and then it's spring break! There are exciting things ahead in March.
What's your Joy for this week? I'd love to hear!
